welcome back maurice. thank god there are people still with the guts to say whats right and speak common sense. those responsible for this charade should crawl back under the dodgy stone they came from and hang there heads in shame( and that includes the spineless coward who has been sending me hate mail because i was supporting maurice, you scared my wife and thats out of order). lets have that drink sometime maurice, get your health back to strenght . my regards to you and kirsty and the family.

Maurice ! Your plight has been on my mind every week since July and I have been seething at the way you have been treated.

I am so pleased that you have beaten these degenerate liars against all of the odds. Righteousness rules my friend,... after one hell of battle that in truth should not have had to have been fought by you.

I hope that you still have the determination to extract compensation from these criminals, who in the interests of Justice should be brought to book for attempting to pervert it !!

Wonderful news that Maurice was found innocent, as we'd all expected. Worryingly, though, the South Wales Echo is reporting that bailiffs seized him before he could leave the court and he's being held in custody, again!

What's happening to him?

Flying Vet cleared of gun charges

Recommend (1) A FORMER vet was yesterday cleared of illegally selling a deadly machine gun from a First World War fighter plane.

Maurice Kirk – a plane enthusiast known as the Flying Vet – advertised the working Lewis machine gun for sale for £2,000.

A jury heard “eccentric” Kirk, 64, posted videos of himself onto the internet clutching the 3ft-long antique machine gun.

Cardiff Crown Court heard the machine gun was mounted on Kirk’s De Havilland II aircraft, which saw action during the Battle of the Somme.

Kirk sold the plane to collector Ronald Cooper for £50,000 who later bought the machine gun for £2,000 cash. But it was seized by police who discovered it was in working order and could fire two rounds with a “single squeeze of the trigger”.

The jury cleared Kirk leading to cheers from his supporters. But as he left the dock he was grabbed by two bailiffs and dragged towards the court cells.

Kirk shouted: “I have been cleared – I am not guilty. I should be allowed to walk through the front doors.”

Several members of the jury were left in tears and Judge Paul Thomas QC described Kirk’s exit as “disturbing scenes.”

The court heard Kirk, who defended himself, had been in dispute with South Wales Police for 18 years over a series of issues. Kirk, of St Donat’s, Vale of Glamorgan, was cleared of possessing a prohibited weapon and a second charge of selling or transferring a machine gun.
