Alvin & Kandy here in south Texas with some ruffled feathers after taking Maurice under our wing. Its hard for a little Piper cub to soar like an eagle when it has a F16 bearing down on it with missles armed and guns locked and loaded.

Maurice is a survivor for sure and as soon as his wings grow some new feathers the adventure continues. Heal well our friend.

Flying is a lot different since 9/11. Everyone has gone nuts over "security". My greatest fear is TFRs. I hope that Maurice didn't didn't bust a TFR or the restricted area around Geopge Bush's house. I have followed Maurice's story since he left England for Australia. If that sheriff in Texas had done that, he would have known that it was the normal Maurice that he thought was drunk. Now we have a lot of "done nothings" bad mouthing Maurice. Every time I read one of the web sites, I get so angry I feel like answering them. Then I think, why bother, they don't know any better. Like a friend said, in the 20s and 30s, Maurice would have been all young boy's hero. They would probably lock up Lindbergh and Corrigan as nuts these days.

I met you last year at Lock Haven when you wanted to take a picture of me, my Cub and my "fat stomach". We laughed together for quite a while that night. I hope that you may be there again next month. You must have a lot of new stories since then. I hope that you didn't loose your top hat along with the Cub! Len J Buckel, San Diego, CA. "Short trip flyer" Only 2540 miles to SJ from San Diego.
