The criminals in uniform: Almost 1,000 officers with convictions from drug dealing to perverting justice are still in the police - an article in today's Daily Mail:

  • Two detective chief inspectors among 944 officers in England and Wales with a criminal record
  • One officer found guilty of gross misconduct after sending racist and sexist texts is still in his job
  • Hundreds of others facing misconduct allegations are allowed to escape punishment by quitting their forces.

And how many criminal records are being whitewashed and ignored?

Even worse: how many criminal records are not even created by lies, perjury, bribes and other 'misconduct in public office'?

What difference does it make whether a judge listening to Maurice as a witness in the Musa hearing calls him a liar or whether he has digital video and photo as proof that he speaks the truth? Maurice said that the Musa case is far more serious than him being in prison for a few weeks... He knew he was being set up to be arrested.

But what difference does it make whether 'ordinary people' with common sense speak their mind thanks to blogs and websites, while 'experts' with their 'coded language' abuse their powers of office? Does "sub judice" make sense in the 21st century and the age of internet?

Or is the "ruling assumption" that the gods in white (doctors), police officers, lawyers and court staff MUST always be right and "the public" IS always wrong? The ruling opinion is the opinion of rulers!

But there is one consolation: on their death bed they will remember! Then their conscience clicks in, even if it has been ignored during most of their life time...
